What to Expect at Your First Sound Bath?
Before You Arrive
No experience needed. You don’t need to know how to meditate or do anything ‘special’. Just come as you are.
What to bring:
A yoga mat or something comfy to lie on
Banket
Pillow
A journal (optional, some people like to reflect on their experience after the sound healing)
Clothing:
Wear soft, layered clothing. Comfort is everything. No shoes needed inside the session space.
When You Arrive
You will be welcomed into the space gently and warmly and be invited to find a space on the floor to comfortably settle in.
I may guide you into relaxation with some deep breaths and light grounding to ease you into rest. I’ll share a few words explaining the bowls , or may open the space for intention-setting before the sound bath begins. I always
This isn’t a performance. You’re not there to watch, you’re there to rest, receive, and reconnect.
During the Session
You’ll be invited to lie down, close your eyes, and allow yourself to relax into the beautiful sounds and vibrations of the unique frequencies of the bowls combined with my voice toning and singing.
What you may experience:
A deep sense of peace or timelessness
Tingling, warmth, or vibrations throughout the body
Emotions rising or releasing gently
Energy shifts
Mental images or dream-like states
Or simply…rejuvenating, deep rest
Your body will respond in its own way. Some people even fall asleep, and that’s totally okay. The sound vibrations are still working.
After the Session
Give yourself time to integrate.
You may feel deeply relaxed, a little ‘floaty’, or even a bit emotional. It’s all welcome. You will be given time to slowly come back to the room…most people go very deep, often into the Theta state of deep rest and restoration. This integration time is essential to allow your system to assimilate any shifts or changes. The sound continues to work throughout your system even after the bowls stop and up to a week later.
It’s helpful to:
Drink lots of water. It’s important to stay hydrated to allow any detoxification during the session to pass through your system.
Avoid rushing
Reflect or journal. Writing and reflecting can deepen your understanding of your experience and it’s impact on you.
Enjoy an epsom salt or sea salt bath to help with detoxfication
A Few Notes
Sound is felt differently by everyone. Some sessions will be deeply emotional, others simply restful. There’s no “right” way to receive.
You are always in control. If you need to shift, sit up, or step away, please do what feels best for your body.
This is a safe, inclusive space. Come with your full self. There is a place for you here.
